The performance Slides down the throat invites the audience to an interactive ceremony, through a meeting between the current climate and Agnon’s language, towards foundational questions of faith, passion, and our interactions with the other.
'The Lady and the Peddler' is Literature Nobel Prize laureate S.Y. Agnon’s most well-known and studied story. Precisely because of its central place in Israeli culture, every generation we are required to rethink the meaning of the story, the drama at its foundation and the price of passion and its realization.
Dekel Avneri takes the audience on a fascinating and refreshing intellectual journey... This is a theatrical event, a celebration of a truly different theater, one that breaks and challenges the limits of the medium and the limits of our thinking about fictional characters, embodying characters and life on stage, in front of the public's eyes... complex and rich metaphorical thinking that challenges every viewer and expands the boundaries of thinking about culture in general and the art of theater in particular.

ארוחה למחשבה בעקבות הסיפור האדונית והרוכל מאת ש"י עגנון
המופע מחליק בגרון מזמין את הקהל לטקס אינטראקטיבי, דרך מפגש בין האקלים הנוכחי לשפה העגנונית, אל עבר שאלות יסוד של אמונה, תשוקה והיחס לאחר.
אני מסיר את הכובע והכיפה שאין לי על המבצע הביזארי, המרתק והמשולב של אירוע פרפורמטיבי בהשתתפות קהל וסדנת השמנה (נזכרתי בבתי ההבראה של ההסתדרות, שהיו בנויים על אותו עיקרון של עוגות רוסיות ופיטום בלתי פוסק)... "האדונית והרוכל" הוא מהסיפורים האהובים עלי ביצירות עגנון, ואני חייב לומר שאני עדיין מעכל, תרתי משמע, את האקט ההיברידי הפונה אל כל החושים שיצרתן ממנו. תמר היא מדהימה, בפירוש, גם שחקנית וסטנדאפיסטית בחסד, גם זמרת נפלאה, גם רקדנית מטריפה, וגם אישה מקסימה ומהממת.
